Come bike the to the Florida Keys with us! Whether you’re trying to get in some early spring training or just escape the snow, pack some shorts and get ready to enjoy miles and miles of the beautiful South Florida coast. Our ride will end in Key West where we’ll take in the sunset on Malloy Square and enjoy some nice R&R before heading back to real life.

Stay tuned for the February 2017 dates!

This fully supported tour starts with a late afternoon social and evening group dinner in Ft. Lauderdale. After our introductory gathering, you’ll have time for a walk on the beach (right outside your hotel door!). Early arrivals will have time for an extra day of cycling - cue sheets will be provided for loop rides ranging from 20 miles to a metric century. The following day (a nice low-traffic Sunday morning), we’ll pedal from Ft. Lauderdale to South Miami, along the Atlantic Greenway and bike paths. We’ll enjoy the ocean breezes as we pedal past numerous beaches, some amazing trophy homes, and scenic areas.

In the following days we’ll bike through Key Largo, Islamorada, Marathon, Big Pine Key, and all the way to the southernmost spot in the Continental United States. We’ll spend two nights in Key West, giving everyone plenty of time to cycle this eccentric city, as well as visit Hemingway's house, the Truman White House, and other sights. Our overnight hotels are in Ft. Lauderdale, Kendall, Islamorada, Ramrod Key, and Key West. After a van shuttle back to Ft. Lauderdale, we’ll end our tour with a week of summertime memories to keep us going through the rest of the winter.

The tour is fully supported, which means that included in the tour cost is hotel lodging, a van for luggage transport, a seasoned tour leader, breakfast, snacks, nightly happy hours, occasional group dinners, and a mechanic on staff. (Note: Our tour leaders and mechanics will always be there to help you, but for a more enjoyable touring experience, we encourage all tour participants to attend at minimum a flat repair workshop before participating in a tour.)

Late February daytime temperatures are mostly in the high 70's and can get up to the 80's. Overnight lows along the southern coast are mostly in the low 60's - not a bad trade for what the polar vortex temperatures average....

Each day averages approximately 56 miles with minimal elevation gain. While we have included many bike paths on our route, there are also short distances along roads and through rural areas with minimal shoulders. When getting entering and leaving towns, expect standard urban conditions. Beginners will find the flat roads provide a great introduction to touring. More advanced riders expecting a good workout will not be disappointed.

For the first ten signups, we include a free two-way bike transfer between NYC & Florida. If you are travelling with your bike, we are happy to facilitate bike packing. Our service department will be offering pre-tour specials for all tour participants.

Tour participants are reponsible for their own travel to and from the start/finish. After signing up, please wait for confirmation from your tour leader before booking air travel. For those of you arriving by plane, early afternoon rider/bike pick-up will be scheduled for the Ft. Lauderdale airport. Talk to our helpful guide for details.

The trip cost of $2,395 includes six nights nights of lodging (based on double occupancy), nightly social hours (well stocked with beverages of your choice), lunches, ride snacks, maps & cue sheets, and two group dinners. To request to participate in this ride, use the sign-up link below and submit, cash/credit, your initial deposit of $250. Feel free to reach out to our touring leaders for more information about this tour, and see our FAQ for answers to some common questions about supported bike touring. Please carefully read our cancellation and transfer policy before signing up.
